The popularity of podcasts has grown rapidly over the past few years, which has led to an explosion of new podcasts being released. To help guide you through the clutter, we’ve identified some popular photography podcasts to listen to in 2020 – all suitable for seasoned professionals, amateurs and beginner photographers.
According to the latest data from Ofcom, over 7 million people in the UK now listen to podcasts every week. That adds up to one in eight people, and represents an increase of 24% over the past year. Over the past five years, the consumption of podcasts in the UK has more than doubled – bringing with it a wealth of new podcasts for listeners to enjoy.
The trouble with so much choice, though, is that it can be hard to know which podcasts to listen to. Just search for “photography” on any major podcast platform and you’ll find 100’s of podcasts on the subject – but which ones are worth your time?
We’ve identified the top podcasts for photographers below. If we’ve missed a podcast out that you think should be on this list please get in touch and let us know.

The Art of Photography (Off Camera)
This podcast has been running for just under two years, and has quickly become one of the best photography podcasts around.
The Art of Photography is a popular YouTube channel presented by photographers Ted Forbes and Jaron Schneider, who also produce a podcast called Off Camera in which they discuss the latest photography kit to hit the market and offer tips and advice to photographers.

The Martin Bailey Photography Podcast
This long-running photography podcast is produced by Tokyo-based photographer Martin Bailey.
Having started in 2005, there’s not many topics that Martin hasn’t covered so podcast listeners will find everything from creative photography ideas to in-depth gear reviews and actionable photography tips.
Although Martin is primarily a nature and wildlife photographer, his podcast explores many other photography topics from both a technical and inspirational perspective. There’s also many guest interviews for listeners to learn new tips from photographers in different fields.
The Candid Frame
With over 500 episodes, The Candid Frame is a popular photography podcast that focuses mainly on guest interviews with professional photographers.

The Beginner Photography Podcast
This podcast is firmly aimed at beginners who are looking to improve their photography skills. Each episode features a different photography topic, genre or technique, as professional photographers are interviewed and encouraged to share their knowledge.
This is a must-listen for new photographers, particularly as the podcast focuses on what established photographers wish they had known when they started out.
The podcast is presented by Raymond Hatfield, a wedding photographer based in the US, and features subjects as diverse as underwater photography, general tips and techniques, and advice on how to photograph sporting events.
