We are delighted to be a partner of the Connektd platform and to take part in the inaugural Event Freelancer Summit.
Our session was a run-through of all the insurance options available to event freelancers. Below you will find a video and PDF version of our presentation as well as a complete guide to insurance for freelancers and a link to a survey/prize draw we are currently running.
Whatever your role – whether you’re a freelance event organiser, sound engineer, or you work in event design, publicity or anything else – getting the right level of cover at the right price is important.

Working at an event comes with a lot of responsibility. Most freelancers who work in the events industry would benefit from public liability insurance – which provides cover in case you accidentally injure a member of the public or damage property while carrying out your duties.
For some events you may be required to have a certain level of public liability in place before you are eligible to be hired. At Create you can choose public liability cover from £1 million up to £5 million.
You may also want to consider professional indemnity insurance – which covers you in case any legal claims are made against you e.g. if your actions or advice lead to a client losing money.
If your role requires the use of specialist, expensive equipment, then you can also buy equipment insurance to protect it against loss, theft or accidental damage. We offer up to £50k work of cover for equipment, to help you stay in business should something happen to your kit.
As well as the ability to tailor your cover around your individual freelance role, there are other benefits to choosing Create Insurance:
